How can ACCRU add value to your institution over the years?

  • Knowledge sharing: ACCRU will support institutions to mobilize and communicate knowledge to a vast audience to realize a true impact by supporting innovative knowledge mobilization, as well as open data access and publishing.

  • Equity, diversity, and inclusion: through its commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, ACCRU will foster the enhancement of the impact of research when these three principles are considered in the research and scholarly activity of our member universities.

  • Community-responsive: ACCRU will support knowledge sharing with local communities. ACCRU is committed to community-responsive research since communities should be the first beneficiary of research done with their university partners on issues important to them.

What our members say about ACCRU,

"At a time when the public are asking questions about the relevance of post-secondary education and the teaching and research we do, it is more important than ever that we maintain a strong united voice about the important role those post-secondary institutions of all size play in supporting communities and driving economic and societal growth. Membership in ACCRU helps affirm the leadership role that small to mid-sized universities play in place-based knowledge development and mobilization into our surrounding communities. ACCRU institutions all bring various strengths and expertise and collectively we can build something more substantial than we can do individually."

Dr. Craig Kuziemsky
Associate Vice-President Research
MacEwan University

"The needs and concerns of small and medium-sized universities are different than those of larger universities.  ACCRU provides a unified voice representing our needs, a voice that reflects our different missions.  ACCRU is also a platform for knowledge sharing, brainstorming, and comfort in the comradery of colleagues facing similar challenges. Wilfrid Laurier University is a proud and grateful member of this organization."

"YukonU is delighted to be a member of ACCRU. Our membership has helped us build relationships with others in small and medium universities across the country who are facing the same challenges and opportunities we are. I reach out to my ACCRU colleagues regularly for advice and support and am grateful for their willingness to share their experiences as we work together. We’re pleased to contribute our northern perspective to the shared voices of ACCRU."
